Stacking the Shelves (23) ~ I've Rewarded Myself!

This is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews where we share what books we have recently added to our physical or virtual shelves.

My Haul

For My Kindle
Free
Poison Dance by Livia Blackburne

Prequel novella to Midnight Thief! I hope to read this one before to long (it's only 86 pages).

Purchased
Best Kind of Broken by Chelsea Fine

I haven't been reading much of any NA this month (I'm a bit wary of them lately), but this one looks so good!

For Review
Falling into Place by Amy Zhang
A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray
Clariel by Garth Nix
The Perilous Sea by Sherry Thomas
The Jewel by Amy Zhang

Last week, I came up with a goal to write and type up 10 reviews by the end of this week. My incentive? Edelweiss books! I finally got to download these awesome looking titles and I am so excited to read them! (Aren't those covers gorgeous?)

Thank you to Edelweiss and HarperCollins and its imprints, Balzer + Bray, HarperTeen, and Greenwillow Books!

Bookshelf Additions
B&N Order
Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson
City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare

Since You've Been Gone looks so small compared to City of Heavenly Fire, despite being 449 pages.

Won
Vision by Lisa Amowitz

If you don't already know, I won a giveaway back in March where I get a book each month from Spencer Hill through next February. These are what I got for this June (I was surprised there was two). Both are fall ARCs. The squirrel zombie one is a really short middle grade novel and the other is a YA.

Thank you, Spencer Hill Press!

Weekly Wrap-Up

Read
The Truth About Alice by Jennifer Mathieu (3.5 stars)
The Murder Complex by Lindsay Cummings (4 stars)
Rebel by Amy Tintera (3 stars)
(Don't You) Forget About Me by Kate Karyus Quinn (4.5 stars)

I really hit a range of books this week, didn't I? Reviews for all of these plus for Tease and Sweet Reckoning are coming up this this next week. I'm catching up in reviews, so I just want to post them all as soon as I can.

Blog Posts
Sunday
~ I celebrated my one year blogoversary!! I also have one US and one international giveaway running.

~ I shared an awesome snippet of Snow Like Ashes! Sara Raasch is giving away a swag pack. :) (you really don't want to miss out on either the snippet or the giveaway, by the way)

Monday
~ I reviewed Dirty Little Secret by Jennifer Echols. I really liked this music based book!

~ I interviewed Mary Crockett, the co-author of Dream Boy. The cover for her book is gorgeous, which I asked her a question about.

Tuesday
~ I posted my first Top Ten Tuesday of the year. I listed my top ten favorite books of the year so far (which was actually really easy).

~ I interviewed Dahlia Adler, the author of Between the Scenes. Her book releases on June 24th and I'm excited to get it! I have it pre-ordered. ☺

Wednesday
~ I featured The House of Four Winds as my Waiting on Wednesday pick. It was my very first adult pick!

~ I interviewed Joshua McCune about his debut, Talker 25. It's a really good interview. Every question is about the book. If you've read it or are thinking of reading it, I highly recommend reading his responses. (giveaway of signed copy included)

Thursday
~ I shared the cover of Cassia Know My Name by Juliet Pierce. It looks like a really good dystopia.

~ Dela, the author of upcoming The 52nd, wrote a guest post about her publication journey. If you're a writer or someone interested in reading a book based on Mayan/Aztec myth, I highly recommend reading the post.

Friday

~ I helped reveal the cover of The Perilous Journey of the Not-So-Innocuous Girl by Leigh Statham in Month9Books Friday reveal! This cover looks awesome.

~ I interviewed Clara Kensie, the author of the Run to You serialized books. I have the first part (which there's a giveaway for) and I'm really excited to read it.

My Week
Not much has happened! I've just been making some progress with catching up on reading, reviewing, and blog commenting. Oh, and I saw a bear in front of my house at two in the morning. It decided to come onto my porch (which is quite small) and dig through a trash can that was on it. It hasn't come back, thankfully, but I thought it was pretty cool to see a bear in the wild for the first time. And a little scary. (I live on a mountainside next to the woods in Oregon, in case you're wondering why a bear would come to my house.)

What's Happening This Week
Class of 2014 will be wrapping up this week! I have six more authors to feature (one of which is featured today). Two more giveaways (plus four that aren't a part of the event) will be posted and most of the current giveaways will still be running. I'll have a couple cover reveals and a bunch of reviews for sure as well.

How was your week? What books did you get?

Also, hopefully that bear doesn't come back. That's really scary even if it's small..

    1. So many books, so little time . . . all of those series are favorites of mine, so I do hope you like them. :) I hope I do like the squirrel zombie book! I'm not a fan of most MG, so I'm not sure how much I'll like it. The bear hasn't come back. :)

  15. Why are you wary of NA books lately?

Omg your haul looks soo good! I can't wait to read the reviews. I need to check out your review for The Truth About Alice, but I want to wait until I've read it myself. So I'm going to bookmark your review for that book :)

Old follower via bloglovin and I still love your blog.

    1. I'm not exactly sure . . . I think it's the fat that I prefer clean-ish NA (like YA/NA crossover), and a lot of books in the genre seem to be NA/Adult crossover.

I hope you like The Truth About Alice! It's a very good book, but I didn't connect to it that much.

      Thank you. :-)
