Top Ten Tuesday (5) ~ Books on my Summer TBR

Top Ten Tuesdays is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and a weekly meme where we simply make a top ten list for the week's topic.

The Top Ten Fourteen Books On My Summer TBR list

Ooh, this one is a toughie . . . just ten books? There's so many I could add! So, I'm going to narrow my options down (by a lot) and just list the books off my personal TBR. (Well, actually, there are two e-arcs, but they're coupled with others that aren't!) I'm taking a big break from e-arcs next month and these are the books I plan to read.

In no particular, here's my list!
FINALLY. I've been dying to read this one for, what, eight months now? I can't believe I haven't even read a page of it yet.

I lent this to a classmate soon after my copy arrived, and she absolutely loved it. Since so many other people told me its amazing, I'm excited to finally get to it.

I'm not as excited to read this one as much as the others, but I've been meaning to restart this series for such a long time. I read maybe 100 pages of this last year (around January), but lost interest. Seeing as how I did the same thing with Shadow and Bone (one of my favorite books now) around the same time, I think I could love this series now.

Sydrian! <3

Um. Okay. I'm nervous about this. I plan to read all of these conclusions (plus all the other books on this list) in July and maybe early August . . . I have a feeling that I'll be emotionally crippled by the time I'm through with all of them.

I've heard so many amazing things about Susan Dennard's series, so I decided, hey, why not read all three books when I have access to the e-arc of the last one?

First of all, let me explain what regret feels like: it's not having a single book in this series in print. Ugh. I made the wrong decision going digital with these. They're so gorgeous, especially when they're all lined up! Anyway, I really liked Throne of Glass, and since I have Heir of Fire, I have a great reason to read the rest of the books.

That's my top books on my Summer TBR! What are yours? Leave me a link to your TTT post so I can see. :)

Psst...if you look over to the right at my giveaways section, you may notice that there are a lot of them running right now (more going on at once than I've ever had). There's two new ones today!

  1. I know your worries regarding all the final conclusions to book series! I've been putting off reading Allegiant for a LONG LONG time now and... we'll see! *sends love and courage to you* Have a great summer reading!

  2. I haven't read Ruin and Rising yet, but I loved all the other conclusions. :) And I can't wait to read Silver Shadows and Susan Dennards books. And Heir of Fire, although sadly I've to wait for september before I can read that one. Great list! :)

  3. I'm hesitant to pick of Throne of Glass, because I read the first novella and didn't really like it. I had no idea what was going on :/

I hope you'll be okay after all these endings! :D

  4. I have problems reading sequels, just because I don't want them to end. So I haven't even started Siege and Storm yet! And I've actually never read the Divergent series, and I'm not sure why. I should probably get on that. And also I have to read Throne of Glass. Ugh too many books.

  5. I literally want to read every single book on your list. I think I need to quit my job so I can just read all day every day. I might have enough time to read all the books I want to then XD
Great list thanks for sharing :)

  9. A lot of these are on my TBR list! Throne of Glass series, Something Strange and Deadly series, Ignite Me, and Daughter of Smoke & Bone are the top ones I definitely have to read, but haven't yet. An awesome list! Thanks for sharing!

  10. Oh wow, a lot of endings there! I have actually heard not too great things about Splintered, so I wonder what you will think. I am also looking forwards to your review of Allegiant. It wasn't bad, but you'll either love it or hate it ;) I think it was okay, just a bit draggy and no where near as good as the first two, unfortunately :'( Have you read City of Heavenly Fire already?

    1. Hopefully, I'll still enjoy both those books. I haven't read CoHF yet. My list is focused mainly on the books I know I'm reading this month (a couple were added because they couldn't not be). I do plan to read that book this summer, though.

  11. Please, please, please give Daughter of Smoke and Bone another chance! The story is so good once you get into it and Laini Taylor's writing is magical. I adore that book.

    1. The writing was my favorite part of the book! That, the heroine, and the setting/concepts make me want to pick it up again.

  12. If you stick with Daughter of Smoke and Bone, it's totally worth it! And I've been meaning to read The Winner's Curse for a while now; I've heard nothing but good things about that one.

  15. I love the Throne of Glass series! I can't believe that there are 6 books in the series though. It's going to kill me waiting for all of them. Great list :)

  17. Oh, you MUST read Clockwork Princess! That series was one of my favorites ever. And Splintered! And Something Strange and Deadly. Daughter of Smoke and Bone... Really, you have an amazing list. I hope you're able to read all of these books this summer! :)

  18. I haven't read a single book by A,G. Howard, either! That needs to be addressed ASAP since book 3 is coming out soon, too. I can't wait to see what you think of The Winner's Curse. A lot of people had positive, mixed, and negative reviews about it so I wanna know where you stand :) and Maas' series! *flails* super good!

  19. Oo yeah, those series conclusions are going to be painful, maybe go back and forth with something not so epic and emotional? ;-). I'm in a horrible spot with Throne of Glass since I bought the original hardcover which looks horrible so now I can't decide whether to donate it and buy the new hardcover to match the others or pretend it doesn't exist >.>

    1. I'm spacing out the conclusions, thankfully. I would get the new covers. They seem worth having!

  20. Haha, I just got Splintered in the post a few days back too. I've finally succumbed to that cover!! ;) Dying to get my hands on Ruin and Rising and The Winner's Curse too!!!

  21. You have Heir of Fire. Better get to it then, girl! The series is pretty great, and even though the books are massive, they are pretty easy & quick to read.

To my shame, I also haven’t read Allegiant yet. I’ve actually re-read Divergent and Insurgent in May so I could finally finish the series, but no, I just can’t bring myself to do it. Spoilers suck, and the duo-perspective is confusing.
I also read Ignite Me last month. The ending was a bit lame, but other than that, I really enjoyed it. If you liked Unravel Me, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with the conclusion.
